I am not a scuba diver. I bought this as a high end toy. I love snorkeling. It is the best. It is robust. Definitely fun to use. The wireless connection from the handle to the motor is instant and works every time. Using the scooter on high I still never run out of battery power. I have grand kids that will be using the scooter , I worried about the negative boyouncy so I purchased the shark cover and it fits perferctly and solves the problem. The craftsmen ship is superb. The power exceeds my expectations. I give this 5 stars.
